As I was reading this, it made me think of the Gay marriage controversy. He would believe there are enough open-minded people to push for this equality, that the change is inevitable and for the better of our society, since the current laws are not in harmony with the current conditions of life. It made me think of the protestors and people fighting for equal marriage rights for everyone, and how many others believe gay marriage against the bible. But in years later, these ideas become common to everyone. These concerns, in turn, house a deeper unease about the nature and place of masculinity in contemporary Australian society.
